D-Day Celebrations


Did you know that some of the D-Day celebrations turned pear-shaped on occasions?

In Staden (in the Westhoek) D-Day was marked with a reception at the town hall, a brass band and the honouring of a soldier. Afterwards, it turned out the soldier in question was a German instead of an English chap as they thought at the time.
