Did you know that not only soldiers perished at sea during the war? 

Many of the casualties at sea were the result of maritime convoys carrying supplies, food and weapons being attacked by German submarines and torpedo boats. A staggering 855 Belgian sailors of the merchant fleet lost their lives at sea.
