Promenade De Haan

Zeedijk De Haan-Wenduine

The De Haan promenade was built in 1906 at the request of beach tourists, dying for a promenade with a view of the sea as you would see in most seaside resorts. The former sea dyke lies at the foot of the current one which was built in 1935. Thanks to a regulation limiting the building height on the promenade, De Haan is the only Belgian seaside resort where the promenade is not shaded by high-rise.

Spioenkopje

Spioenkop De Haan

On the second highest dune (31 m) of the Belgian Coast, a small, white, red-roofed pavilion beckons: the Spioenkop. Here, you can take in the stunning vista of the polder landscape behind it, the wooded countryside and the sea.

Dune forests

Did you know that Wenduine and De Haan are linked via 5 km of natural dune forests? The Dune Forests Hiking Trail takes you through this exceptional area and treats you to an unforgettable vista, high and dry from the Wenduine Spioenkop Dune! The dune forests cover an area of 152 hectares. And those with loads of energy left to burn can explore the entire area to their heart’s content via the Dune Forests Hiking Trail (10.3 km).

Concessie

De Haan oozes belle époque. Allow the stunning architecture to transport you back to yesteryear.
