The Sea of Flavours - a walk through Ostend
Looking for great eateries to drop into on your walk through Ostend? The Sea of Flavours Route will take you along famous and less famous, but more importantly, great places to eat. The route starts at the Ostend Vistrap, the covered fish market where you can buy fish landed that very day. Aside from that, this route will reveal some of Ostend’s best kept secrets: for starters, where you can get the finest whiskies or the most delectable waffles.

Great places to eat along Albert I Promenade
For little gems like Bistro Bottarga you need to be on Albert I Promenade. Fine dining with a view of the sea, bliss!
The Green Man
If whisky is your thing, make sure to call into The Green Man. Aside from being waited on hand and foot and getting buckets of advice, you’ll leave the place knowing how to drink whisky like a real Scot.
Bistro Belle De Jour
Great food with a difference! The large table in the centre of the restaurant is the heart of this no-nonsense spot. No menu but a blackboard listing the menu featuring seasonal and day-fresh produce.
Tea Room Georges
Ostend’s tiniest restaurant but don’t let that stop you for their shrimp croquettes are to die for.
At Primeurs Achiel you will find an eye-popping selection of fresh vegetables and fruit, cheeses and charcuterie, selected wines, unique spices, an in-house catering service and home-made dishes. Make sure to pop in, if only to feast your eyes!
