Oostende
The former Beggar’s town fl ourished under the reign of the fi rst Belgian kings and developed into one of the most cosmopolitan and fashionable health resorts in Europe during the ‘Belle Epoque’. After the second World War, Oostende lived up to its forward-looking sparkling image by radically opting for modern architecture during reconstruction. To this day, Oostende presents itself as thé City by the Sea where there is plenty to do and see.
