Below, you will find a few tips and ideas to get you on your way, but there are many other hidden gems out there for you to discover!

De Hoge Blekker - Koksijde

Travel along Zeelaan in Koksijde before arriving at Panoramalaan. Hoge Blekker is located at the end of this road and is a major attraction on the coast. This dune is 33 metres tall and is the highest dune along the entire coastline, which is why it was named ‘Hoge Blekker’. The dune served as a shiny beacon ('blekken' is local dialect for ‘shine’) to seamen who would spot the white tip of the dune from afar. Those who visit the dune for a picnic can choose to sit out of the wind at the bottom of the dune, or at the very top at any of the picnic benches. Enjoy the wide view from the top across nature reserve Doornpanne, and remember to bring shrimps for your picnic, the seafood Koksijde is famous for!
