The wonderful renovated Leopold I Esplanade recalls the first footsteps of the king on his realm. His joyful entry as Belgium’s first king is honoured by the majestic statue of him on the square. The Royal Chapel in its vicinity confirms once more the ties of De Panne with the royal family.

The cemetery is located near the coast at Adinkerke. It was opened at the beginning of the war and stayed in use until 1918. Located next to the military hospital of Cabour, it 'houses' many of those who didn't survive. This cemetery behind the church contains the graves of almost 1 650 Belgian soldiers.
